Big Smiles on Pre-teen Girls
![]() |
The pre-teen girls at SAK were all big smiles when they entered the green for the first Children’s Cup in handball this year in Sisimiut. Wearing their new players’ clothes from XL-BYG Arctic Import they were looking forward to the tournament stretching from Friday 20th till Monday 23rd February. |
As regards the result the girls ended last in their row, but that does not mean so much according to trainer Ms Evelyn Frederiksen. – “The girls have developed by playing against older and more experienced pre-teens from the other clubs”, says the trainer and adds that next year the girls are ready to play for a better position.
The tournament has improved the interest for handball in Sisimiut. When the handball training started for the pre-teens in SAK two and a half month ago the team consisted of five players. Last Monday 33 girls attended the training. Improvement is detected with the girls in SAK. The team has great spirits, happiness and willingness for the handball game and the interest for the training shows a high degree of desire among the girls to fight about the ball.
Sales manager at XL-BYG Arctic Import, Mr Peter R. Bertelsen, says that it was easy for the company to make a decision about sponsoring the girls with new players’ clothes for home ground and play away and socks which all fit the colours of the club. ”For many years we have supported children’s and young people’s projects in Greenland and we have a superior policy saying that sponsorships are directed towards these only.” The girls’ happiness confirmed to XL-BYG Arctic Import that the sponsorship was given to the right ones, adds Mr Peter R. Bertelsen. The girls became unbelievable happy and looked forward to competing with the other pre-teen teams in the Children’s Cup.
It will be exciting to follow the team when they enter the green next year for the Children’s Cup in Sisimiut with equally large smiles as this year.
